Green Power

Green Power and Renewable Energy Are Not the Same

Green power, as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is “Green power is a subset of renewable energy and represents those renewable energy resources and technologies that provide the highest environmental benefit.” [1]

Green Power in the US Energy Supply

Green power sources produce energy with superior environmental benefits compared to conventional sources, and produce no anthropogenic (human caused) greenhouse gas emissions.

The Biomass Produced Through Green Power Technologies’ Organic Conversion Process Provides the Highest Relative Environmental Benefit Among Renewable Energy Sources Available Today

The EPA defines green power as electricity produced from:

  • Biogas
  • Biomass
  • Geothermal
  • Low-impact small hydroelectric sources.
  • Solar and Wind

By converting the high percentage (65-70%) of organic-based material in our waste stream (fiber/paper products, food remains, yard and wood waste) to clean biomass, Green Power Technologies provides a solution which reduces the need to landfill problematic waste, and at the same time creates a source of green power.
